The City of Zadar is not only known for its historical and cultural monuments but also for its amply supplied vegetable and fish markets on the peninsula (a part of the old city).
The market is daily supplied with fresh fruit and vegetables from the rich hinterland of “Ravni Kotari”, the fruitful waters of Lake Vrana and the islands of Ugljan and Pasman.
Judged by the variety of goods on offer, it is one of the largest markets in Croatia.In the direct vicinity of the “green market” is the fish market with an exceptionally diverse offer of fish and seafood, as well as salted sardines by the piece. The fish market is situated close to the promenade, where lively coloured fishing boats of all sizes lay crowded in the morning. The fishing tradition in these parts is very old (1995 marked the 1000th anniversary since the first written account of fishing in Croatia – Sali / Dugi Otok) and the most famous fishing town on the Adriatic is situated on the island of Ugljan.
Zadar - Beaches :
1- beach on hotels resort „Borik“, 4 km far away from centre,
on the West side from centre. One side of beach is sandy (with switchback, swimming-pools, restaurants, renting,
tennis-courts)and the other side are pebbly (with breakwaters
and caffe-terrace). Whole area is completly rebuilt and today is one of the best in Dalmatia. Whole area are in pine-tree forest
2-beach on the Puntamika cape, 5 km from centre, 500 m from Borik, pebbly and rocky beach.

3- beach „Yaching club Vitrenjak“, 4 km far away from centre,
500 m from Borik, pebbly beach close yachts marina.
4-beach in district Diklo- 6 km far away from centre, 1 km
from Borik, sandy pebbly and gravelly beaches with caffe-bars
and restaurant. Whole west side of town have a rich offer for visitors: hotels, marinas, camping, youthostel, numerous caffe-bars, restaurants, wine-cellers, night-clubs, discoteques, amusement park, souvenirs shops, sportyards…
5- beach Kolovare, belong to the hotel „Kolovare“, 2 km far
away from centre, on the East side of town, sanday and
gravelly beach, partly is shadow, with open swimming-pool
6- beach on the Punta Bajlo cape, 4 km to the centre, East side
of town, beautiful rocky beach.
