Omišalj is a town and port in the north-western part of the island of Krk. Chief occupations are farming, fishing, chemicals and tourism. A tanker terminal is located in the Omišalj Bay. Lies on the local road which is connected with the regional road running from the Bridge of Krk to Baska. - Airport "Rijeka" is situated near Omišalj.
Omisalj - Beaches:
The Pesja beach is a pebbly urban beach with a small concrete plateau, located at the end of a 3 km long Omisalj bay on the island of Krk, beneath a wooded area. It is approximately 1 km away from the center of Omisalj and the closest hotels.
There are also several catering establishments close to the beach. The beach is also equipped with sanitary facilities, changing cabins, recycable waste facilities, life-saving and first aid equipment and phones. Life-guards are present from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day during the season. Access to the beach and the sea is also adapted for the disabled.

Omisalj - History and Cultural Heritage:
The site Okladi contains the ruins of a Roman settlement Fulfinum. An early Christian basilica is situated in Sepen Cove (preserved except for the roof truss); according to local tradition, it used to be a part of the Glagolitic Benedictine abbey of St. Nicholas, abandoned in the 15th century.
The most important monument is the Romanesque parish church of The Assumption of Our Lady (Stomarina), restored and extended in the 16th century.
On the square, in front of the city loggia dating from the 16th century, there is the chapel of St. Helena, annexed in 1458; the chapel has a collection of stone monuments (the inscription from Fulfinum, etc.). In the part of the town called Dubac there is a Romanesque chapel of St. Anthony of Padua, with a vestibule from the 17th century; the chapel of St. Joseph from 1784 is situated in nearby Voz. - In the departure building of Airport "Rijeka" there is a stone mosaic on the wall, a work by Oton Gliha from 1970.
