Dobrinj is a village in the north-eastern, central part of the island of Krk, 10 km south of Omisalj; elevation 200 m. It lies on easily cultivable soil, favourable for farming. Dobrinj is located at the intersection of the regional road Klimno - Sveti Vid Miholjice and a local road.
The Municipality of Dobrinj includes the following settlements: Cizici, Dobrinj, Gabonjin, Gostinjac, Gornja Hlapa, Donja Hlapa, Klanice, Klimno, Kras, Meline, Polje, Rasopasno, Rudine, Soline, Suzan, Sveti Ivan, Sveti Vid, Silo, Tribulje, Zestilac and Zupanja. Dobrinj has about 2000 inhabitants.

Besides sandy beaches and the crystal clear sea, the region abounds in beautiful coves accessible by foot, car or boat.
Besides sunbathing and swimming on the beach or in an isolated cove, the calm sea and mild wind in the evening and morning hours are ideal for sailing, rowing, boat rides and surfing. The peace and quiet in a natural environment offers a wonderful vacation atmosphere.
A famous sandy beach suitable for children is located in Silo, in the picturesque Soline Cove with exceptionally warm sea and healing mud, suitable for healing the gout and other rheumatic diseases.

Excursion lovers can enjoy marked walking and hiking trails in the length of 60 kilometers surrounded by rich diversities of the natural world in coastal and inland areas. You can reach the Biserujka Cave by foot, car or boat.
You can also enjoy organized and individual excursions and visits by boat or car to the cultural, historical and natural sights of other parts of the island of Krk, the Opatija and Crikvenica - Novi Vinodolski Rivieras, Gorski kotar, and the nearby islands. A 1-2 hour drive will take you to the Risnjak, Velebit or Plitvice Lakes National Parks, as well as the Ucka Nature Park. We also offer excursions to the neighboring destinations such as the Postojna Cave and Venice.
In the vicinity of Dobrinj is located the cave Biserujka. It has been attracting the visitors'interest since time immemorial, once due to stories about the hidden smugglers' treasure and today owing to the numerous and interesting forms that have sedimented there.
Dobrinj - Events:
One of the best-known and oldest manifestations not just in Dobrinjstina but also on the island of Krk, is Stipanja - the festivity of Dobrinj parish protector. It is celebrated on the 3rd of August, on the celebration of finding the remains of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr. Stipanja (eng. St. Stephen's Day) starts with the Old Slavic concelebrated forenoon mass, continues with the afternoon folklore at the town square and in the evening it turns into a folk celebration.
Dobrinj - History and Cultural heritage:
Dobrinj is the oldest Croatian settlement on the island of Krk. The square features the parish church of St. Stephen (mentioned in 1100), reconstructed on several occasions in the past, so that it comprises elements of the late Gothic and Baroque.
The church of the Holy Trinity with a churchyard was built in the 16th century; in its immediate vicinity is a bell tower from 1725, a work by the local master Pilepic.
The surrounding area was inhabited long before Croats came in the 7th century, which is evidenced by archaeological finds from the Illiric period in the neighbouring locality Kras, while the Town of Dobrinj was mentioned for the first time in a document from the year 1100. A whole series of documents and Glagolitic inscriptions is evidence of Dobrinj being the centre of Glagolitism at the time, and St.Stephan's Church, adorned with valuable aristic objects, dates back to the same period, too.
