Ciovo is an island in the central Dalmatian archipelago. Population 6,071.
There are several caves, the most prominent being Bilosaj and Anicina Jama (Annie's Pit).
Apart from a part of the town of Trogir, there are several villages: Arbanija, Zedno, Okrug Gornji, Okrug Donji, and the hamlets of Slatine and Prizidnica.
On the western part of the island are sand and pebble beaches, the largest being those in the Saldun bay. Smaller coves include Duga, Tatinja and Movarstica.
The island is actually an extension of Trogir but also a kind of breakwater for the Kastela Gulf. Along with vacation opportunities, Ciovo also offers a number of tourist attractions and historical monuments. Additional visitor opportunities are provided in the nearby towns of Trogir and Split.
Ciovo - Beaches:
The island has beautiful beaches and a dense forest along the shoreline. It is an ideal destination for a family holiday due to excellent bathing conditions. Although the place offers various tourist facilities, it is also suitable for those who prefer their privacy and would like to bathe in secluded bays.
Along the south-western coast are several smaller islands (Sveta Fumija, Kraljevac, Galerija, etc.); their cliffs provide good opportunities for underwater fishing. On the eastern side of the island are smaller beaches, around Slatine and the Supetar Cove.
The church and the Dominican monastery of the Holy Cross (5 km from Trogir) were built in the 15th century. The Franciscan monastery of St. Anthony keeps a painting by Palma the Younger and a sculpture of St. Magdalene by Ivan Duknovic.
Along the coast is the church of St. Jerome. On the eastern part of the island is the hermitage church of Our Lady of Prizidnica.
Along the south-western side of Ciovo is a small island called Fumija, with the remains of the late antique or early mediaeval church of St. Fumija and farm buildings of the Benedictine monks from Trogir.

Accommodation facilities are provided in Arbanija, Donji and Gornji Okrug, Ciovo and Slatine (rest homes), which include private acommodation, as well as, small and family run hotels.

Arbanija is a small tourist destination on the beautiful island of Ciovo, 4 km from Trogir. The island is connected to the town of Trogir by bridge. Only private accommodation is available in Arbanija. Arbanija iz small tourist place and it is near the sea with all of its length. Local population are mostly working in tourism, and most of the houses in Arbanija are mostly apartments.
There are a few bars where you can have lunch in shades of pine trees, and in the evening you can go out and have fun. On the main beach you can rent a sandoline or just enjoy the sun!
If you are traveling by car, after the Čiovo bridge turn left and continue for 3 km.
Slatine is a hamlet and small harbor on the northern coast of the island of Čiovo, 7 km southeast of Trogir. Chief occupations are olive growing and fishing. Slatine is situated on the local road.
Okrug is situated on Southwestern part of island Čiovo.
The village itself is split into two places: Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji. Village is situated by the sea, and on it whole length by the sea lies a beautiful beach. The village is tourist oriented.
Other than beaches and coves,rug also has great restaurants with fresh fish and other dalmatian specialties, lots of beach bars on the main beach, lots of bars etc. Fisherman parties are organized in the summer, parties characteristic for the area. The main beach offers a lot of activities like scuba diving school, water skiing, jet ski rental etc.
Ciovo - History and Cultural Heritage:
Traces of the pre-Romanesque church of St. Peter have been found near Slatine, in the Supetar cove. The medieval church of St. Maurice has been preserved in Zedno. In Ciovo is also the pre-Romanesque church of Our Lady near the Sea.
