Pucisca Hotels (Central Dalmatia)
Pučišća (Pucisce) is a village and harbor on the northern coast of the island of Brač. Economy is based on farming, growing of vines and olives, fishing and tourism.
Pučišća is the center of stone extraction and cutting industry. In the immediate vicinity are three large quarries (Punta, Veselje and Kupinova), where the famous stone of Brač is extracted. Pučišća is located on the regional road.
Pučišća is the largest settlement on Brač with genuine Mediterranean features, creating an original local atmosphere with its white roofs, but this place seems to dislike the sea because of the northern wind that whistles in the harbor during the winter months. Therefore it was situated on the fringes of the bay, out of the wind.
The houses gradually climb up to the steep clearings above the port. The inlets created by the descent of the Brač uplands to the sea are thus left uninhabited. Although the white slab roofs, being heavier, better resist the force of the north wind, they are slowly being replaced by industrial tiles. And this means an unnecessary withdrawal of the white, stone-built Pučišća.
Pučišća is famous for stone extraction and cutting and is one of the strongest centers of stone masonry on Brač. It is also a pleasant seaside resort, located in a nice, well protected cove, which offers safe shelter for boats.
Visitors may enjoy bathing, water sports, yachting and windsurfing. We recommend sailing, surfing and diving to outdoor enthusiasts. Entertainment programs are offered in the summer months.

- Hotel Palace Dešković (4 star), which is a late Renaissance family run hotel that is registered as a cultural monument at the Historic Buildings Institute in Split. It was built in 1497. The palace has 13 double bedrooms and 2 double-room suites. All rooms are fully equipped (air conditioning, mini bar, satellite TV, internet access, bathrooms with Jacuzzi, floor heating).

Pucisca - History and Cultural Heritage:
The cemetery features the former Benedictine church of St. Stephen and close to the town is also the small Romanesque-Gothic church of St. George. In 1467 Ciprijan Zuvetic built the first citadel in the town. Such citadels and forts were later also built by other rich families; there were 13 of them but only a few have been preserved. The parish church features a wooden relief above the main altar (work by Franjo Ciosic, 1578), the altarpiece representing St. Roch (Rocco) (Jacopo Palma the Younger) and the altarpiece of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Venetian school of the 18th c.). - Close to the town is the early Christian church of St. Stephen, reconstructed in the early Romanesque period.
