Vrboska is a typical small Dalmatian town situated in a narrow and deep bay in the central part of the northern side of the island of Hvar.
The cove is enclosed by a forest of pine. Vrboska is situated on a branching road of the regional road.
Once a place of fishermen and fishing tradition with a still existing proof, the Fisherman's Museum, it is now a tourist center attractive for its authenticity, peacefulness and beauty.
The town is divided into two parts - Pjaca in the east and Padva in the west

Soline is a peninsula full of beautiful small pebble bays on the southern side while on the northern side flat stones prevail.

Vrboska - History:
The sights and artefacts of Vrboska are the most appalling thing while sightseeing the island.
The Church - Fortress of Saint Mary was built in 1580, one of the most prominent sights on the island of Hvar is a rarity in Dalmatia. The very first inhabitants built small church of St Mary, below which a small port was later formed. After the attack of the Venetian fleet in 1510 and the Turkish fleet in 1571, the church was taken over and from that time received its recognizable appearance.
The artefacts collection in the church of St Lovrinac exhibits the most beautiful paintings of the island of Hvar. The most significant are the works of Paolo Veronese, Francesco Bassano, Celestino Medovic.
The collection in the Fisherman's Museum represents the tradition of this village of fishermen and seamen. It exhibits the fishing outfit used throughout the history, small exhibits connected to the first industry of tinned fish, built by the French in 1894. A particular place takes the exhibition of fisherman's kitchen with traditional cookware.
