Stari grad is a town and harbor on the north-western part of the island of Hvar. It has 2767 inhabitants.
Chief occupations include farming, viniculture, olive growing, fruit growing, fishing and tourism.
It is situated on the regional road running along the island. Stari Grad is also a ferry port. Anchoring ground for yachts northeast of Cape Fortin.

Lanterna - a city beach which is approximately 800 km far from the centre of the place, and it is made up of a gravel little cove and concrete boards.

Banj - a city beach, approximately 500 meters from the centre of Stari Grad. It is made up of a gravel part and concrete boards.
