Igrane is a village and small harbor on the Makarska Riviera, 7 km southeast of Podgora. It is located on a small peninsula, with a large sand beach (1.5 km) on the south-eastern coast.
Economy is based on farming, olive growing and fishing. Igrane is located on the main road (M2, E65).
Igrane offers the atmosphere of a typical Dalmatian tourist resort for peaceful vacations.
Igrane - Beaches:
Beautiful beaches are adapted to children so Igrane is perfect for a family vacation. The beaches in Igrana are sandy and stretch to about 1,5 km.
The harbor has a breakwater along where smaller yachts may dock; during the bura yachts may dock east of Cape Igrane.

Igrane - History:
A settlement existed already in Roman times (sarcophagi). The apse of a small mediaeval church has been preserved on the cemetery. The Baroque summer mansion of the simic-Ivanisevic family was built on the coast in the 18th century. Above the village is the tower Zale, built in the 17th cen-tury for the purpose of defence against the Turks, as well as the parish church (1752). In the olive-groves above the village is the church of St. Michael (11th/12th c.), a three-nave pre-Romanesque basilica. - The dominant structure in the village is a high bell tower.
At the highest point of the village is the "Zalina Kula" tower - named after Ivan Anticic, and built during the 17th century as a protection against Turks. The Pre-Romanesque church of St. Michael (Sveti Mihovil) dominates the village. Tourism and agriculture are the main sources of income for the inhabitants. Near the town, by the sea is a prehistoric site Gradina. Numerous sarcophagus lids are a testimony of roman presence. On the graveyard is a church of St. Nikola from 1925.
